Newcastle Youth Circus Club

Mondays 4.30-6.00 at Christ Church, Shieldfield, Newcastle. (Please enter via the Church Hall door – which fronts onto Shieldfield Green  - not via the School’s main entrance nor car park). For ages 12- 19, Cost £3 per session.

We’ve seen members travel across the UK to take part in circus events in Somerset and Sheffield, perform on stage at festivals and public events and develop great skills ranging from fire hula hoop to german wheel. The club is open to new members, with no experience necessary, just a willingness explore new areas of physicality and creativity.

On 22 February 2012 we will be starting a Wednesday Unicycle cub for children 8 years plus and their families – Sessions will be £3.  4.30-5.30.

Are you over 16+?

Club Circus Central happens every Monday night from 7-9pm. It is an open training session for anyone who is into and interested in training circus. Each week we have different people training everything from Acrobatics to Trapeze, Hat Manipulation to Rola Bola. £3 per session. And there are some Adult Aerial Classes which run most monday evenings 6-7pm check out our Facebook group ‘Club Circus Central’ for more info.

Newcastle Youth Circus and Circus Central

What is exciting for the Newcastle Youth Circus is that Christ Church – both the school and the church buildings – are  going to become ‘Circus Central’. We are working on our First Phase with an Aerial Rig to be installed in early 2012. in time for the start of our youth circus Troupe auditions and project, starting in Feb 2012.

The full plan is for the church, church hall and school halls will all be kitted out with all you would ever need to learn circus. A place for local youth circus to play, for the regional Five Ring Circus to excel, for professionals to train and a North East circus scene to find a home and develop through.

Circus Central is hosted in the Christ Church buildings, Shieldfield, Newcastle. It will remain both a place of worship and a primary school and we a place which will serve the wider community.
