Five Circus @ JUST now runs every school week alongside the community circus group ‘JUST’. In Autumn term we’re working towards developing our skills and getting more adults involved in the teaching and training exercises. Some of us will be performing at the Dorman Museum in December as part of the Edwardian Circus act developed by Let’s Circus. The rest of us are working towards the Carnival next year, even if August seems a long way off – we’re keen to put together the best local parade act ever! How will we get bigger and better than 80 yellow and white flagwavers, balloon bearers and caravan pullers on unicycles, stilts and foot? Watch this space!

Venue – Northfield School (combined with Billingham Campus school) on Marsh House Avenue, Billingham, TS23 3HB.

Five Ring Circus is hosted by the club JUST (Juggling and Unicycling Stockton-on-Tees), because the young people at the club wanted to learn more circus skills. JUST is run by volunteer for all ages – with under 16s attending with a parent or chaperone. Club members often go ‘municycling’ (mountain unicycling) on weekends, and at the end of every session there is a unicycle hockey match! It is a great community to join!

Our youth circus sessions are lead by 2 circus professionals and run from 7 – 8.45 pm . We and the club are really keen to get people skilled up as all rounders in circus skills, not just specialists and adults in the club are invited to participate to learn new skills on behalf of the Club. Please wear suitable clothing.

Fiona Cobb is the JUST committee link person to the Five Ring Circus Project. Stockton Ring Leaders are Joe, Sian, Paddy and Lucy have a chat with them if you have any ideas you want to see happen with Youth Circus Club. We will see if we can make it happen together.

If you want to come along, to a JUST club session they are run run from 6.30pm to 9.00pm every Thursday.
